The weather has been awesome in Matagorda this month and it looks as though spring is here early. Light winds have given us many days of calm water off the beach which has been great for paddleboarding. Water temps are in the upper 60s and much warmer than usual for this time of year.
Beach driving conditions are bad right now. Even with some recent heavy rain, the sand is light and soft and even some 4wd vehicles are having trouble getting past 3 mile. The beach entrance was graded this week, so you should at least be able to drive onto the beach and make it to the packed sand.
