Beach Vehicle Permits

A beach vehicle permit is required if you want to drive onto Matagorda or Sargent beaches. Matagorda County beach vehicle permits are good on all beaches in the county and are good through December,31 of the year issued. Beach vehicle permits help to pay for parks, trash & bathroom facilities for our visitors.  Fines range from $50-$200 if you are caught driving on the beach without a permit.  You can purchase your permit at the vendors listed below.

My parents and grandparents had a cabin at the mouth of the Colorado starting in the 1950s until they had to move. Parker’s cut was a favorite place to fish and flounder. I remember the ire and frustration when they closed the cut. Those engineers have yet to prove all their ideas are good ones.

That was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you for that excellent trip and monologue!!
