Little Boggy/McNabb Lake

Little Boggy Bayou connects McNab and Gottschalk lakes to the Intracoastal Waterway. This is a great place to fish for Reds and Flounder and view wildlife. Be aware that this is prime Alligator habitat and we have heard reports of some 13ft+ monsters up there. This is a good place to stay in your kayak and not get out to wade. We also recommend you carry a GPS and lay a track. It can be easy to get lost in the maze of marsh that is Little Boggy. If you are going here for the first time, it is a good idea to hire a guide to show you around. All the land in Little Boggy is private property so please protect paddler access and don’t trespass onto dry land here.

Getting There:

From Matagorda, go east at the Cemetery on Old Gulf Rd. (also known as Cemetery Road). Drive for approximately 2.75 miles and park just before the small bridge and launch on the north side of the road.
Coordinates:28.71081, -95.9146

Don’t ever change it. It’s what makes the beach great. Lower traffic. Less vehicles! Down from Tulsa. Been coming 25 years to Matagorda County. Love it.

Who’s complaining about breach permits I understand but ppl need to realize Matagorda beachfront is very special to those who know it and it’s not port A or Galveston

Wish i could move to Matagorda for good. I love it there. Thank you so much for the update

Always like your reports and I see your beautiful fur baby is enjoying it to😀

Also love the site and the beach reports. Thanks for that!

Once the tide goes out driving is fine, we were just there for 2 days without any problem.

Grew up on Matagorda Beach and it's not always been strictly the Dat a car could run up and down it all day everyday with no problem.

We are visiting for a couple days. Are ranger type vehicles (gator, golf cart etc) allowed? And do they have to be road approved?

Used to live in Bay City snd we went to Matagorda a lot .That was in 1962 -64.
