East Matagorda Bay Paddlesports Park @ Rudasill’s Cut

The Bay City Port Authority purchased the land around Rudasill’s cut. They have opened a small parking area and launch to the public for paddlecraft only.  This is a good area to paddle out to East Matagorda Bay.

Getting There:

From Matagorda head south on FM 2031 across the bridge. Look for a parking area on the left, and a large sign.

Coordinates: 28.64449, -95.96477

Parking & Facilities

Rudacells Cut Put In There is a good amount of parking here, but please do not block the launch area. You should unload your kayak and gear and move your vehicle out of the way so other paddlers have easy access.

High Tide Warning! We are experiencing 16mph onshore winds in Matagorda today. The tide is already high. The forecast for tomorrow is for 35+MPH winds which we expect will drive the tide even higher than today. It is possible the tide will push all the way to the dunes overnight and tomorrow. We recommend you pay close attention to the conditions if you plan to head down beach today or Saturday. Be especially careful if you plan to camp on the beach overnight. Also the driving conditions are 4x4 only right now. ... See MoreSee Less
