Beach driving conditions are very good at the top of beach in the mornings while the tide is low. The beach entrance has been graded so most vehicles can get onto the packed sand. High tides in the afternoon will make driving conditions harder in the afternoon.
There are some Portuguese man o’ wars washing up on the beach but not in large numbers. Waves are running 4-5ft this morning predicted to calm down to 3 by late Saturday afternoon. Beware of strong rip currents on Matagorda Beach when the waves are 4ft+.
