Allen’s Landing

Allen’s landing provides easy access to East Matagorda Bay and to St. Mary’s Bayou. It is a short .43 mile paddle out to the bay. The put in site can be muddy so we recommend water shoes/boots for getting in and out.

Getting There:

From Matagorda go south on FM 2031 across the bridge and toward Matagorda Beach. After you pass the River Bend Boat Ramp and Restaurant, start looking for the water treatment plant on your left side. Pull in just before the water treatment plant.
GPS Coordinates: 28.64931, -95.96301

Parking & Facilities:

This site has a good amount of off road parking as seen in the picture. There are no other facilities at this site.

High Tide Warning! We are experiencing 16mph onshore winds in Matagorda today. The tide is already high. The forecast for tomorrow is for 35+MPH winds which we expect will drive the tide even higher than today. It is possible the tide will push all the way to the dunes overnight and tomorrow. We recommend you pay close attention to the conditions if you plan to head down beach today or Saturday. Be especially careful if you plan to camp on the beach overnight. Also the driving conditions are 4x4 only right now. ... See MoreSee Less
