A beach vehicle permit is required if you want to drive onto Matagorda or Sargent beaches. Matagorda County beach vehicle permits are good on all beaches in the county and are good through the end of the year. Beach vehicle permits help to pay for parks, trash & bathroom facilities for our visitors. During peak times they are sold at the beach entrance and you will not be allowed on the beach without one. Fines range from $50-$200 if you are caught driving on the beach without a permit. You can purchase a beach vehicle permit for $10 from these local businesses before you get to the beach:
